It's the hottest card in the hobby right now, soaring to new heights with every auction cycle, and there's every reason to believe that the trend will continue for some time. Many trading card experts have gone so far as to suggest that the 1952 Topps Mantle has supplanted the T206 Wagner as the hobby's most celebrated representative, and while relative populations indicate that the Mick will never quite match pricing for the Old Dutchman, there is some logic to the contention.
So when one takes a larger view of history, the rising tide of the debut card of Topps' first high-number series seems almost preordained.
Graded PSA NM 7. The calming blue sky and the upward gaze of the subject it frames seems to herald an exciting new Major League age, both for the sport and the trading card hobby. A splendid representation of the most iconic card in the hobby.
